Summer fun ~ How are you keeping the kiddos busy?

Being out of school my kids seem to get a bit stir crazy. Thankfully, the little ones spend half the week at the sitter's while I work so it's a nice change of enviornment for them. Also all my kids spend time each week at their Dad's house ... you wouldn't think it leaves a whole lot of time left over for getting "bored" but I still hear it all the time.
Zach plays outside a lot (riding his bike or hanging out on the playground with friends) but Brenna can't unless Haley or I are willing to take her out ... Neither of us feel like it often. We went to the lake last weekend (tons of fun!), have spent a few evenings outdoors catching lightening bugs, and I just picked up a baby pool to take over to Chad's house for the weekends.

How is your family coping with summer boredom?

Nor sure.
I will be getting Sarah into Kiddie Camp again this year, just for a week though. Other then that I am not sure.
Brady will most likely , unfortuneatly just "hang around". He seems to lost all interest in the things he liked to do, since his dad died last year. I don't know what to do for him.

I don't know how near you are to a Michaels, but dh got the girls a snap together doll house with snap together furniture. Dad put together the doll house and furniture. I am painting the doll house and Kate has painted the furniture. This has turned into a huge, time consuming, fun project. I am hoping they will take care of this better than a premade set.

Well since Raymond and I arent able to go anywhere with his job or with my childcare, were sending our kids out. Raymond has spend a week with his uncles and aunts. even though were in the same city, he had fun with them. they went to the movies, skateboard park, swimming of course video games. Theyre all teenagers. in a week hell be going to California for 2 wks with his nana and tata. When he comes back the only trips ill be taking are "weekend trips" to New Mexico. As for Destiny, I am enrolling her in dance classes. Its princess theme so shell love that. Lil Raymond has been going to church outtings and weve been doing bbq at the park or backyard. its been nice.

I don't worry about them getting bored because it forces them to use their imagination. There is plenty to do around here, so there isn't really time for bordem.

I don't feel the need to keep my kids constantly busy ... we have days where they play around the house and I tell them to deal with their boredom ... but once in a while (for my own sanity) I've got to get them out of the house.

Both of mine are on the swim team, so they have practice most days. Ally has the swim meets. Other than that, they are keeping themselves pretty busy. We spend alot of our "free time" at the pool, since we have 2 of them. It's free and all their friends are usually there.

My daughter loves to play that's why I keep an eye of her toys and who's she's playing at. I will try to enroll her in one of those summer classes.

Take yor kids to summer camp, let them be creative and make certain things. Go for some innovative home based ideas like you can let child let play in bath and make iceberg, make sand-pits, paddling pools etc. It will help children to keep busy.
