Re: Summer pregnancy check-in
The weather here has been really unseasonably cool....like the normal high is 85, and it's been mid 70's with pretty much zero humidity....so it's put a damper on water sports, sadly! We spend a lot of time out on the deck, since it's the only level place on our land, where Colby plays with his water tray and pushes stuff over the sides of the deck for the dogs to eat. My dad put in a swing for him that we use a lot. We go to the park pretty much every day, but there's not a lot of kids his age there. A few of them play with Colby, but it just breaks my heart when the older ones come up and then just run away, and Colby runs after them, like "Hey, wait, play with me!"
Colby still just says "dah", but I'm just really amazed at his receptive language...who knows every other baby might be this way as well. I can say "go get me your alligator" or "where is the couch" or "get me your red cup" and he does it. Understands all sorts of commands and questions, although his 'answers' are more like, "do you want a snack?" and he runs to the pantry and bangs on the door. When I ask him, "Where's Momma", he pats my chest and kisses me. awwww, I'm okay that he doesn't talk when he does stuff like that. Love him!
