Yearly testing?

Do you have to do yearly testing? Where do you have it done? What's the process like?

Re: Yearly testing?

We've been testing all this week. Since dd goes to virtual school, the test was provided by the school and we just had to make sure she took it. If we were doing it all ourselves, there is a state homeschooling group that we could have joined that provides the tests and volunteers monitor the test. In my state, testing is required every two years after grade 3. Every state is different. If you have a local or statewide homeschooling group you could join, I am sure they could provide lots of information and possibly testing materials. Here is a link to the Minnesota Homeschooling Alliance: http://www.homeschoolers.org/

Compliance with testing laws is one of the reasons we choose a virtual school that was accredited in all 50 states and provided testing services.

Re: Yearly testing?

Thanks for the link.

DH and I joined MACHE, and have a beginning homeschooling workshop this weekend. Hopefully I will learn more about the testing then and if they offer help with it. DH found some info at University of Minnesota that says they offer the testing. I'm just not sure how it works. He's going to call them this week.

We're not required to test, but we can if we want.

Re: Yearly testing?

I found out today that we have to do testing, but it's administered by us, and we don't have to report the results.
