What are you getting your kids for school?

Re: School clothes and supplies

Everything was included in the price of the school, so we don"t have to get any school supplies. We did have to buy an ultra tough kid's computer, but that is a one time in a long time cost. As far as clothes, we just got her a new pair of cleets for soccer.

Re: School clothes and supplies

MIL bought the kids some clothes and so did I (she got them more), both got new sneakers and the school supplies on their list. I have most of it.

Re: School clothes and supplies

I have most of my homeschool supplies(waiting on some to arrive in the mail). I still need some odds and ends like paper and pencils that I'm picking up tomorrow.

My kids don't need new clothes right now but I will get them all new winter clothes before it gets cold. Christian is growing so fast. Feels like as soon as I buy him something he outgrows it.

Re: School clothes and supplies

Cheap mom that I am, I got Josh 5 pair and Jake 3 pair of almost brand new Old Navy and Gap jeans at a yard sale(along with a jean jacket for me,and 2 pair of shorts and a shirt) all for $10. Not a rip/tear/stain anywhere! Then I headed to Salvation army and bought a bunch of stuff for Jesse and a few things for Jake(and about 6 LS shirts for me cause all I have that actually fit are tanks/summer shirts) for about $45. I spent about $10 at Wally-world for paper/pencils/crayons, etc. I found 3 pair converse sneakers WITH THE TAGS STILL ON! at Goodwill in Jake and Jess's size for $5 each pair.
Now I have to pray I can find some good bargains for Anna, and see what other supplies they might need, and Josh and Anna both need new sneakers. So far I have about $80 for 3 kids...not too shabby if I do say so myself!

Re: School clothes and supplies

Jim bought most of the school supplies for the kiddos minus the silly stuff that I told him not to worry about ('community' dry erase markers, germX, tissues etc).
We don't have the $$ to buy BTS clothes right now but I did take the kids to GW a few times and found them some cute stuff to make them feel like they got some new stuff to start out the school year. John is supposed to be buying them new shoes this weekend but we will see if that happens or not.

Re: School clothes and supplies

I don't have the money for BTS shopping right now either. My kids get next-to-new stuff from Goodwill all the time though so they aren't hurting for clothes.
Not sure what I'm going to do about the actual "supplies" yet.

Re: School clothes and supplies

My son's school supplies were provided by the school it self, we did not need to buy anything from outside.
