brest feeding

My child is two weeks old. Since she is getting mostly breast milk, I was wondering if that is enough for her. When does a child normally start eating solids. My doctor has told me it is not unusual at her age for her to be mostly nursing. When she is a bit older should I resort to formula feeding. At present I am just nursing her. Bought a nursing shirt from Topmommy which is very comfy.

Re: brest feeding

Your baby need breastmilk ONLY, no formula, solids, or extra water/juice. You should wait until at least 6 month to introduce solids. Babies, especially those as young as yours, may want to nurse all.the.time. She'll be going through growth spurts, so be prepared to be sitting around nursing most of your day. kellymom.com has TONS of bfing info, just about any question you could have in answered there, and there are also helpful videos.
