I am not producing more then half and oz out of both breasts!!! I pump and pump and nothing.. I feel like I have failed at my goal of BF'ing for a year and not only that I feel like I am losing the bond with my son.

So ever since I started moving I left mini at my parents to go do stuff which would take all day this went on for a week and My mom just fed him the milk I had stored up and I never pumped while moving since I had no where to store my milk, so is that why my milk is gone? Can I get it back? I have tried to feed him and he is just not intrested he doesn't want milk because nothing is coming out. I am feeding him similac and he is in a bad mood since we started.... What do I do!?!~

Re: Help Help Help, not making milk!

I think this happens to a lot of women at one time or another. Here is an article about increasing your milk supply: http://www.breastfeedingbasics.com/h...creasing.shtml

Since you know the source of your low milk supply is skipping feedings, you can skip the first part and move onto how to increase your milk supply. The only way I know to increase supply is to nurse, nurse, nurse, and pump, pump, pump. I never did have much luck with the pump at getting much out, but my babies gained and grew normally, so they were obviously getting enough to eat. IMO, pumping can be influenced by nerves. If you are upset, your milk may not let down like it would if you weren't.

I think we've all had to skip feedings for one reason or another and had our supply go down. It will come back up in a few days if you keep doing what you are doing.
