Holiday Weekend

Is anyone doing anything special this weekend?

Chad and I are going to a (don't laugh) fantasy football party tomorrow. The draft is earlier in the day and then the guys have a huge bonfire and cookout afterwards. I went with him last year ... it was actually the first time I met his friends.
I think Monday we just have plans to get some things done ... I need to do some major cleaning (more) and Chad is going to sit around on my computer and send off files and emails all day because he's on dial up at home.

Re: Holiday Weekend

We spent two days at the Jackson Mill Jubliee and heritage festival. The first day, the kids got to ride ponies for free. They had hot air balloon rides the first day, but the line was long, so we came back the next day and they weren't doing the balloon rides again. Since this is done on the Stonewall Jackson family farm and state park, there are a number of museums there we took the girls to. They had a treasure dig for the kids. Kate even found something the second day when all the treasures were supposedly gone! They had a Japanese lantern wish send off. We got lanterns for both girls thinking they would be small, only they were huge! So dh and I had to hold the lanterns and launch them into the night sky. Then there were fireworks. Cara was a scared of all the loud noise, but the rest of us loved it. It was a lot of fun. There were tons of crafters there. I didn't get to look at the crafts, but that's okay. I still had a great time. They had an old milk cow I fell in love with. She was so gentle and sweet.

Re: Holiday Weekend

It was a lot of fun. I was only sorry they stopped the pony rides before we got there on the second day. It's still going on today, but it is the last day.
