Some restaurants are offering deals or free meals to veterans and active duty for Veterans Day. I thought I would start a list here.
Applebee's
In recognition of their service to the United States, military veterans and active duty servicemembers will be able to eat for free at any Applebee's on Veteran's Day, the restaurant chain has announced.
Vets and active duty personnel can get a free entree at any of the nearly 1,900 Applebee's restaurants across the U.S. on Wed., Nov. 11, 2009. There will be six entrées from the menu to choose from.
Applebee's is honored to serve those who serve our country," Applebee's Services President Mike Archer said in a prepared statement. "It's our way of saying thank you to the men and women who keep our 'neighborhoods' safe. They are America's real heroes."
Guests will be asked to show one or more of the following as proof of service: a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, a photograph in uniform, or wearing a uniform in person.
