Private school

If people don't mind me asking, how much does private school cost in your area? I have been thinking of sending my dd to a private Adventist school in spite of the religious issue because it is a very good school- probably the best in my area.

Re: Private school

In my area, they run the gamut. The cheapest one I found cost just over $5000 a year, plus you had to participate in fund raisers during the year to raise an addition $1000-$1500. The most expensive cost $20K. About half of them are religious based schools.

Re: Private school

Ours depends on if you are a member of the church or not. We only pay $600 per child as member but I know non members pay a bunch more.

Re: Private school

Wow, that's more like it. I understand the rate differences. They want to encourage people to join their church. my sister sent her kids to Lutheran preschool and my dad was very pleased with them. My sister was not so pleased, but the school does have a much higher rating than the area public schools.

Re: Private school

None of the schools in my area are cheap. There are over 100 private schools in my area, some in very high income areas. The most expensive are the catholic schools in the hoity-toity areas (median income is over $400K)

Re: Private school

They go from $2100 (my son's school, a co-op school) to $10k. Most of them are around $5k a year. Oh yeah, and the Catholic schools are even more.
