How do you unwind?

Re: Qotw 11/01 - 11/07

I hate to say it but my biggest stress is my kids. There are 3 of them and only 1 of me and it seems that I don't get 5 minutes without someone having a question or needing something from me. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and I love when we get to do things together but at home ... while everyone is "bored" or "hungry" and fighting, I can't take it some days.
I unwind by letting Haley babysit for a few hours and getting out of the house. Chad is my comfort and my breathing room so I usually head over there where I can have some adult conversation and feel valued instead of like a door mat to 3 screaming children.

A bowl of cereal in my bed in front of the TV. When not with children, shopping.

Wine and television when I have the chance!

TV or the computer. I used to go for long walks before the kids were born, but now I would have to take them with me and that would definitely not be relaxing.

I hear ya Elaine and am right there with ya!
I really miss being able to leave the house by myself for a few hrs but now with the baby it's about impossible. I feel bad asking Jimmy to watch him when it isn't really necessary since he babysits while I am working so it gets rough sometimes. Usually I play on the puter to unwind or veg in front of the tv and let the housework slide a little bit.

Unwind? It's been so long I think I have forgotten how. I used to put on some Glenn Miller, Nat King Cole or Enya, make a drink and kick back with a book. Haven't been able to do that in a few months/years maybe? I am on the computer most of the day - I use it as my escape. The past few years with Drew have been super rough and the puter lets me zone. To the distraction of everything else, including laundry, housework, errands! Since things are definitely getting better with Drew, I find I am back here at BU ALOT more, less on Facebook (but still too much) and actually getting out of the house more. Shopping, even window shopping, grocery shopping, anything shopping is relaxing for me as long as I am w/o the kids. Rick and I have been trying to MAKE time for dates cause all the stress of the past few years was taking atoll on our marriage, so having a few drinks w/ friends, going to a club once in a while helps too. (Its my fave way to relax, but just too expensive to do often).

Re: Qotw 11/01 - 11/07

Unwinding is a hard thing to do for me now but I do see some unwinding in the near future. Two jobs and going to school has really been kicking my butt but I'm almost done with school so all I'll have to put up with is the jobs. I'm thankful I have them though. The housework gets put on the back burner quite a bit so it is hard to unwind knowing that. lol

I spend a lot of time on Facebook on work and school breaks. I'm looking forward to unwinding at my sister's house over Thanksgiving weekend.
