HELP! Needy Baby

OK I love my son, but OMG recently he has been so needy it isn't even cute anymore.

Like right now he is standing next to me screaming his head off .. why? I won't let him touch the laptop. My ear drums feel like they are about to burst.

If he isn't being held it seems like he is crying, and he will go and go and go. He even follows me around the house screaming. He throws fits if he doesn't get what he wants....please help.

What can I do?!?! This is really getting out of hand. Oh I don't think he is sick ( I heard babies can be needy and cry a lot if they are sick)

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

Sounds like separation anxiety. It's a phase. It will end eventually.

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

You might try wearing him. A mei tai carrier is great for back carries, and you can still get stuff done around the house.

I'm with Lenora on this one.

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

It could be seperation anxiety, but isn't he a little young for that? I forget what the "average" age is, but I thought it was older. But if it is, the good news is it doesn't last forever - just feels that way sometimes! It'll get better, I promise!

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

I was told that this was prime age for Stuart to have Separation anxiety and he's a wee tad older.

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

I coslept too. No yelling here. It would probably be worse if you didn't. He'll grow out of it, I promise.

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

Nothing wrong with co-sleeping if that is what works for you! I was scared I would roll over on them or I would have done it.

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

My 4 yr old sleeps with me, mostly because dh works out of town and I hate sleeping by myself!

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

I cosplept with my son, but didn't have to with my daughter. Both love to sleep in my bed and I use it as a reward. You can watch tv and sleep in my bed if you behave all week.

It's much harder to break the cosleeper the older they get, just keep that in mind.

Re: HELP! Needy Baby

We bedshare/cosleep here.

8-10 months is prime time for separation anxiety.

I have to agree with the baby wearing, it should help
