Is your tree themed?

Do you use a theme to decorate your tree? Like using 1 or 2 colors onely? Or only round ornaments? Or just bows? etc? Tell us your theme.

Or if you don't use a theme, just how do you decorate you tree and home?

Re: Is your tree themed?

No themes here. I see an ornament I like, I buy it and it goes on the tree. The kids get a new ornament every year, too. It's kind of a hodge podge, but it looks good. Sort of old fashioned looking, but we like it. We use all kinds of different lights depending on our mood when we decorate, white and colored, solid and mixed. We also use "speciality lights", like the M&M lights. Then we use garland. We have red, gold, purple and turqoise.

The house we decorate however using whatever is left. Ally wants to string popcorn this year, so we are going to try that.

Re: Is your tree themed?

I have so many ornaments, old and new, so we just put on everything. We tried to color co ordinate some stuff (balls and garland) but gave up on it

We don't have a theme.

Re: Is your tree themed?

We used to do only certain color ornaments, but then we had kids, and I, too, buy the kids an ornament every year, and we've collected ornaments from places we've visited, etc, so now it's just a mix of everything. I still think it's beautiful, and I love it, and now it's special because so many of the ornaments have a meaning or story behind them.

Re: Is your tree themed?

No, I prefer to use one and the same toys. And every year we buy one or two new. So even my daughter Sharon know that the little deers were in the same year when the twins were born, and the red ball from Itally was when my hubby comes from Europe. It's nice to keep memories like this. So no themes.

I've always wanted to have a Superhero tree. All superheros but I have a multi-color traditional tree

Re: Is your tree themed?

I used to do a blue & silver theme but now that my kids are old enough to want "their ornaments" on the tree I don't do it anymore. I prefer white lights but our ornaments are multi-colored.

Re: Is your tree themed?

We have a mishmash tree.... Mixture of ornaments from my childhood, the girls yearly ornaments from the store, homemade ornaments we have done each year and some garlands, and some homemade ones my Grandma made. We have an angel from Germany as a topper... It's beautiful to us. Some of the ornaments are downright ugly (picture a two year old painting a cermaic ornament) but they are special to us.
The only caveat this year with the tree was we left most of the breakable ornaments in the box... Two kittens and a puppy means the tree may get knocked over and we didn't want any of the really special balls to get broken.

Re: Is your tree themed?

White lights and starbucks ornaments. I have about 20 of them and since they are red and white, I use red and white plain ornaments to fill in the rest of the tree. I buy more Starbucks ornaments each year so one day I will be able to do nothing but them. LOL

Cute Jen!

I want to one day be able to do a tea cup themed tree (the little porcelain ones) ... I saw a beautiful one on display once.

Re: Is your tree themed?

This year we have only green lights on the tree. Why? Because they are the longest strings of lights I own and I put them on first. After 2 strands I gave up! LOL! I have some beautiful light blue beaded garland that I got for like $0.50 a strand last year that I am going to use this year. Once we get all the ornaments on, you probably won't even be able to see it! But Ally and I are having fun tonight decorating, so who cares?

Re: Is your tree themed?

No theme. Although themed trees are very pretty, I think it kinda takes away the personalization of your tree... I love hanging up each ornament and having a certain memory attached to each one.
