How is it diagnosed and when do you decide it is bad enough to see a dr? What is the treatment?

Re: Ibs?

I think it all varies from person to person. I hve not been tested for IBS, but when I told my dr my symptoms he told me that is what it is. I am lucky mine is not as bad as some people. I watch what I eat as I know that there are certain foods that trigger it more than others.

I also can tend to go from being constipated, to the runs and back to feeling constipated all in one day.....or I can go 3 days with no poops....or have 5 in one day. One the days that I am very irregular or nto going at all I take Lax-A-Days to help keep it all on track.

it sucks HUGE

Re: Ibs?

IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion. DH's GI doc recommended 2 fiber pills a day... seems to work fine.
