NEW YORK – Over the past week, Facebook has been nudging its users — first gently, then firmly — to review and update their privacy settings.
Want privacy on Facebook? Here is how to get some - Yahoo! News
A little personal story here: A few months ago, I began receiving emails and phone calls from an ex boyfriend that I hadn't seen since 1991. Eventually, he told me that he found me through a series of in depth searches of the genealogy pages that I am a member of. I broke up with this guy because I thought he was psycho. He is married with a family and once again, he proved me right that he is psycho. So if there is someone in your past you want to stay in the past, keep your privacy settings high.
My ex found me through a lot more obscure sites than Facebook. Nothing happened in this case, but I did not want to be found by this person.
