Jimmy's Grandmother my ex-mother inlaw is dying. It's been very difficult the past couple weeks. She has frontal lobe dementia and parkinsons. We have been talking about life and death with the boy lately and with that comes lots of questions from my soon to be 8 year old with Aspergers. He doesn't really know how to ask the questions, just talks about it a lot. That's how I knew it was something I needed to help walk him through. I found a great book: Amazon.com: Understanding Death and Illness and What They Teach about Life: An Interactive Guide for Individuals with Autism or Asperger's and their Loved Ones (9781932565560): Catherine Faherty: Books
I checked it out of the library yesterday. It has short paragraphs and little worksheets to go along with each paragraph.
I'm not in any way promoting this book, we just began reviewing it last night. It's helping us through life and understanding death.
