What is your hobby?

Thread Starter
I'm bored lately and feel like I don't have anything that is "mine". I haven't attempted a whole lot of hobbies because of a lack of money but I sketch a little and scrapbook a little when the mood strikes. I'd really like to find something I'm good at and enjoy doing though.
So what do you do?

Re: What is your hobby?

Lately, I have had almost no time that is not filled with kids or my thesis, but I enjoy sewing, painting ceramics and reading. Once you have a machine, sewing is a relatively cheap hobby and you have something useful when you are done. Since you have limited space, you may want to stick to crafts which you can give away as gifts, things that wear out or things that get used up. I like painting ceramics, but they just sit around collecting dust when they are done which is why I switched to more useful things like sewing and candle making. I don't know what kind of hand eye coordination you have, but since your dd likes jewelry making, that is also something you might want to try. I don't have the hand eye coordination for stringing seed beads and things like that, but you can make some really nice pieces.

Re: What is your hobby?

Mainly I knit and sew (quilt). I have crocheted in the past (my tension sucks so I'm good at Granny squares only), and I have done embroidery and needle point as well. I still enjoy all of those hobbies, just not where I'm focused right now.
Lenora is right, sewing can be fairly inexpensive. You should be able to pick up a machine at the store you work at, and then if you are going to be quilting you would even have an unlimited supply of fabric. You could pick out old shirts pants etc, rip the seams out and cut your squares from them. I have seen some really cute quilts made from that. (Your sketching might coincide with that because you could design your own squares).

Re: What is your hobby?

I used to sew and scrapbook. There just isn't any room in this condo to set my stuff up so I haven't done either in years. I miss it terribly and can't wait to have a space to work on crafts again. Now I don't really have any hobbies other then couponing if you can even count that as a hobby!

Re: What is your hobby?

I love to line dance, work out and run. Line dancing is fun, cheap, social, and isn't done just to country music anymore, it's to everything.
