Can Placental dysfunction reoccur in another pregnancy?

Hiya ... I had Placental dysfunction with my son when i was pregnant with him, and they didnt discover that until i was almost 35 weeks gone, but i was wondering if it can occur in another pregnancy, and if it does how often am i going to have an appointment to keep an eye on my unborn baby?? xx

I guess it would depend on whether or not they found an underlying cause for the placental insufficiency. If it were caused by the placenta not attaching properly or breaking away from the uterus, I would assume the chance of reocurance is lower than if it were caused by a preexisting medical condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Definitely discuss any concerns with your doctor.
