Bullying...

Here we go again....
Tessa has been complaining of upset stomachs in an attempt to miss school the last two weeks.

Last night (after waking me up to complain of an upset stomach) I got her to talk to me. She says she is being bullied again. The kids are teasing her and making fun of her name. She are playing Tessa cooties etc....

I just got done emailing her two primary teachers to ask them how she seems to be doing socially and make them aware that there may be a problem.

I had such high hopes that things would be different for Tessa at this school. I am going to follow up with the school, and per some other conversations with people I will be finding a tae kwon do program or karate (for self confidence) to enroll her in. I am also going to find out how to get her into counseling through Tricare.

Her self esteem is being destroyed by this, and I know from what she said last night that she is just devastated that her new start has turned into the same ol same ol.

I wish I knew why she was being targeted. Other than the fact that she has stuck up to people bullying younger kids, and react emotionally I don't know why....

Well, I guess I get to wait and see what her teachers have to say.

I'm sorry she has to deal with this crap.

Re: Bullying...

Just ran across this article this evening. Hope it gives some help and insight. Give Tessa some extra hugs, kisses and love from an honorary aunt aunt who has been there and totally understands.
