Newbie... Waiting for 3 yrs....

Hello,

My name is Marlene and My husband and I have been TTC for nearly 3 years. He found out he had a Varicocele causing infertility and had is repaired 7 months ago. I cry every month and need all the support I can get from people that truly understand this emotional and physical torment. I have heard from gels that actually help in conceiving, I have also read how important it is for your Ph balance to agree with your husband;s semen for conception. Others say it doesn't matter. Please advise and help me.I just turned 35 and I feel that this may also interfere.. or is just the stressing out.

to Baby U! Have you seen a doctor about your own reproductive health? Perhaps it is time to see a specialist after all this time. I know many people who have had good luck with fertility drugs.

Thank you Ladies. You have no idea how good if feels to be able to share this with that truly understands. Yes I check myself from top to bottom and nothing shows. His S/A was the one that led us to find this problem. Now the doctor sees him after the surgery and all he says is, it can happen at any moment. I truly don't believe that We really don't have money to spend on in-vitro and we have had people that scare and tell us that is don't always work. Sometimes I feel so lost and don't know where to run to......

My sister had twins through invitro. It can happen. I was wondering if they could put you on clomid. I know an awful lot of people who have had success with that.

Fertility drugs can help alot of people, but not everyone and vertainly not always on the first try. You and your hubby need to decide a few things. Is it imperative to have children? If it is, what are you willing to do to get them? I watched my BFF go thru literally YEARS of fertility treatments (drugs, in vitro, you name it) before they finally decided to try a donor egg. After that, they were willing to go for adoption, altho their ages would have worked against them.

There are SO many options available and I encourage you to research and investigate them all before giving up. Yes, it can be a long hard road, but worth it in the end. I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks again. Not sure if you ladies understood, My hubby is the problem. How would I benefit from Clomid? I am confised after what I could expect after having the surgery he had. Its called Varicocele repair Varicocele repair for infertility - Yahoo! Health.

I'm not sure what to tell you. If you have used ovulation predictor kits and you are ovulating every month and your dh's sperm count is good, then you can either wait and see if it happens the natural way or see a specialist. If his sperm count is still low or there is something wrong with the sperms mobility, then you can either try invitro or use a sperm donor. But I don't think there is any fertility medication for men. There is a lot more they can do for women than men.

Hi. I have read your entries and there is a lot you can still do. First, you have to see a fertility MD and follow the prescribed treatement. We are not physicians here and do not aspire to be. We are a group of Moms (some Dads) that have shared pregnancy, birth, child and fertility issues. Before you get angry, I had many years of infertility before becoming pregnant. I had multiple procedures, medications, testing and so did my DH. They might have found one issue with your DH, but there very well could be something else going on with you.... not everything shows a symptom.

There is no quick fix for infertility. You need to see a specialist..... straight up. We can only share our stories. We do not give medical advice or recommendations. We really are a friendly group, I just want to be sure that you know we are a community of people, not here to give medical advice.

I got pregnant on my own using OPks at 37. I was lucky even though it took close to two years. My sister, on the other hand, went through invitro four times before conceiving her twins. She went through 10 years of fertility treatments before trying invitro. Only your fertility specialist can tell you why you are not conceiving. I'm sorry if that is not what you want to hear.

I don't guess I have anything to add, my Dh underwent radiation and we were told he would be sterile afterwards. We adopted twin boys and 5 months later I found out I was pregnant. I think that stress and worry does play a large role in it, I think I got pregnant when I was no longer worried about getting pregnant. We went on to adopt again, and have a full house now. I hope you are successful at whatever avenue you take, but I do think you need to get checked out as well. Good luck and welcome to BBU.

Thank you !!! I dont even know what to think anymore. I do believe that the stressing and worrying is a killer. I check myself very year and the last one I did was 6 months ago, even added a pelvic ulrasound. All is good, thank god. I also do the OPK every month and Im real tired of that and the crying ever month. I pray so much, every single second f the day giving thanks. I know I am a bit depressed. Please dont be mad if I tped something that seemed wrong.

Jaden my heart is breaking reading your cycles. i've been there and i have to echo what Dana said, that stress is a huge factor when TTC. My dh and i tried for five years and had just finally given up and started looking at adoption when i found i was pregnant!
I know the hardest thing to do is not to dwell and stress but it is what you need to try.... good luck!

I'm sorry if some of us seem unfriendly, but we get a lot of people coming here who only want to use us or this site. Everyday, we get tons of spam or people wanting to push their book or pick our brains on a specific topic with no real intention of making friends with any of us. Until someone posts around the boards in more than just their own threads, a lot of us just feel like we are being used.

Maybe now is the time to stop trying so hard, and let nature take its course. Right now you are so focused on the waiting and stressing out over it all (and I know relaxing is easier said than done ) Maybe taking a break from it all and letting nature take care of things may help

All I can really say is that I wish you all the best, and can't wait to get to know you and your husband on our boards. good luck
