WILMINGTON, N.C. – An environmental contractor dramatically underreported the level of a cancer-causing chemical found in tap water at Camp Lejeune, then omitted it altogether as the Marine base prepared for a federal health review, an Associated Press review has found.

The Marine Corps had been warned nearly a decade earlier about the dangerously high levels of benzene, which was traced to massive leaks from fuel tanks at the base on the North Carolina coast, according to recently disclosed studies.

This kind of thing just burns me up! WHY!?! The contractor HAD to know it would come out eventually - did he just not give a crap that people would get sick? I hope they fry him for this! It's totally unacceptable for our soldiers and their families to have to live with sickness because someone was too worried about their job to do the right thing!

Watch the Pentagon Wars. It is not only hilariously funny, it deals with sort of issue. In this, the Bradley Assault Vehicle was a total death trap and they were going to release it for widespread use knowing thousands of people would be killed in it and because of it. Apparently, this sort of thing goes on all the time and that is beyond terrible.
