NBC catches Shaun White, coach having vulgar chat before gold

Shaun White's gold-medal coronation in the halfpipe finals at the Winter Olympics was marred Wednesday by vulgar statements made by coach Bud Keene and aired on NBC live to the East Coast before White's final run. White was the last to go, but since nobody had beat his score from the first round, he was the automatic winner. There was much joy and celebration atop the run, as there should have been. Unfortunately, a few of those words were picked up by NBC cameras.

First of all, this is the Olympics and if you aren't aware there are cameras constantly rolling, you're a moron.

That said, NBC was way out of line with this one. What coaches and athletes say to each other is no ones business, as far as I'm concerned. As the articles says, they are grown men, they can say what they want. NBC should have people watching this stuff before it airs, but apparently they didn't. Bad NBC!

Good grief. He's a grown man. He wasn't making racial slurs or calling anyone a retard, have we become the faux pas police. A grown man can't be vulgar when he wants without everyone putting in their two cents. This politically correct stuff is going beyond stupid.

Grown ups should be able to handle hearing profanity and kids have a lot more to worry about than cussing at school these days where the teachers are shooting each other and some other student may get mad and open fire at any time. Frankly, I would a lot rather my kids heard some old fashioned profanity than have to go through what those students did at columbine High School or Virginia Tech. And it happens so often anymore, that every kid has to be scared these days.
