I use All Free and Clear. I've used the same laundry detergent for so many years, it was hard for me to remember the other brands outside of Tide. I forgot to put it on the list, but I used to use Cheer until it started making us itch, then I switched to All Free and Clear.

We use Arm & Hammer with Oxiclean. It's cheap.
I prefer Tide but at $24.00 a box, I just can't swing it. Oh, and I use to ONLY use liquid but since sharing Chad's washer, I've converted over to powder like he's always used.

I don't like powder either. It clumps up and sometimes doesn't wash out of your clothes leaving soap spots.

I use my homemade Laundry soap... It has Arm and Hammer Washing Soda, Borax and a bar of Fels Naptha soap. It makes a ton of soap (about 10 gallons) for about $3. Cleans my clothes just fine and is super cheap. The hardest part was finding a pickle bucket to store it in.

I agree! I quit using powder back when we lived in a house with a septic tank because it's very bad for septic tanks.

We now have a front loading washer, so I use HE laundry detergent, which is liquid. I use lots of different detergents, usually whatever I have a coupon for or whatever is on sale, but it HAS to be free and clear.
Lately I have used All Free and Clear a lot. I like Purex free and clear when I can find it in HE. My grocery store, Publix, has a very good store brand detergent that comes in an HE free and clear, but it sells out pretty quickly.
I love Tide detergent, too, and I would buy it and use it just on my clothes (since I am the only one who does not have sensitive skin) if I could afford it.

I tend to buy whatever is cheapest, including most store brands. I find no real difference in any of them, so why pay more? We use Purex, Extra and Sun most of the time because I can almost always find one of them on sale and they regularly have coupons for all of them.

I REFUSE to use powders anymore. I have had too many clothes get ruined because of missed clumps that then get dried into the clothes. But if you ARE going to use it, just make sure it totally dissolves in the water before you add your clothes. That wil solve the problem. I don't have the patience for it.

I wish I could use the cheaper brands, but they make me itch and my skin peel off. I have to buy more expensive dishwashing liquid and body soap as well. I have this affection for having skin.

Gain is my preferred brand, anything that's on sale will do as well but never Tide. It think it's very harsh on clothes especially jeans it seems to eat them right up! Price of Tide is way out my range.

Since the kids have skin allergies we use All free & Clear liquid as well. It's usually pretty cheap and I can find good coupons for it as well. As a back up we will use Purex Free and clear as well.

As long as you add the powder first and let the washer begin to fill up with water before you add any clothes, the powder doesn't cause any issues. Still though, if it were just me I was buying for, I'd go back to liquid.

I do the same thing. I just started doing this last year and I love it!

I use whatever is on sale. I prefer Gain then Tide. If CVS has good deals on them, I'll stock up
