It is such a point of frustration for me. Zach is almost 9 years old and claims to not be able to tie his shoes. I KNOW that he knows the process and some days has no problems at all but MOST days he sits for a ridiculous period of time whining and complaining that he can't do it. His dad bought him new shoes with double laces this past weekend and the fight to get him to tie them this morning was unreal. I made him hold the laces in his hand and tried to talk him through the steps ... he'd get to the part where he had one loop in his hand and had to wrap the other lace under and through ... his hands would go limp, he'd drop the laces, and say "SEE I can't do it!". Grrrrr!!!!
