What do you put in Easter baskets? I'm looking for ideas.

Re: QOTW: March 21-28

I am not doing much candy this year, but I never really do. Emily has asked the Easter Bunny for a tennis racket, so she'll be getting one of those and some tennis balls. As for Travis, I am not sure. There is a Wii game he wants, but if he gets one, Emily will want one. She won't see it as even if he gets one and she gets a tennis racket, so Travis may end up with some outside toys, maybe his own tennis racket.
I usually put bubbles and sidewalk chalk in their baskets, too. Stuff for outside.

I actually do 3 baskets, one for each kid and a family basket. The kids will gets the normal jelly beans and some chocolate and some favorite type of candy. They usually each get a new spring/summer outfit, a movie and goofy/fun toys like yo-yos. They are both getting new beach towels since that was such a hit last year. The family basket will have Jelly Belly's for Rick, Cadbury Egg's for Bill and Reeses for me; licorice for everyone normally some gum and mints for everyone to share - maybe a family movie. I'm not much of one for candy. Everyone gets their fave, the rest is fun stuff.

We don't do Easter Baskets. My parents put together one (they dropped it off this past weekend and we have eaten 1/2 already) and my inlaws put together one for each of the kids. They have done it since day one and since I think that its more than enough for them I have never done one. I do however want to do an egg hunt for them this year so I can use ideas of what to put IN the eggs. (other than candy)

I am going to check out the Dollar Tree, Karen. Also, Walmart ovften has those four packs of games, crayons and trinkets that might fit into those large Easter eggs.

I was going to suggest money (small amounts, like coins), stickers, cheap play jewelry, barrettes, etc.

Re: QOTW: March 21-28

I'm doing things a little differently than last year ... fewer eggs and less of the cruddy little candy like Jelly Beans.
I got Zach a small lego set, a sling shot airplane, a giant sucker, a chocolate bunny, and some other candy.
Brenna & Ary are getting a coloring book, crayons, sidewalk chalk, and all the same candy mentioned above.
Haley's has new eyeliner, mascara, sunglasses, and candy.
Riah's has some nailpolish pens, body wash, and a set of bracelets.

I tend to go way overboard and this year I decided to simplify.

I usually do outdoorsy type items like sidewalk chalk, jumpropes etc. I did buy some chalk already and the girl's Easter dresses came with matching AG doll dresses so they will be getting those but not really sure what else they will be getting. The boys are especially difficult now that they are older. They may just get new magazines and a small gift card but it's hard explaining to the girls how the EB brings those!LOL!
