I know everyone is really busy with summer coming on. So I started this thread for everyone to share their updates.

Re: Updates everyone!

I'll start. Kate is loving her art classes and we are thinking (or at least I am) of sending her to art camp this summer. But my dad said he is planning on visiting and hasn't given us a date yet. I can't really plan anything until I know when he is coming. However, his wife has been sick and they have huge medical bills, so he may not be coming at all. I hate it when I can't plan at all.

Re: Updates everyone!

Lets see...

Peyton is potty trained, Disney is on hold, The girls have 22 days of school left then 3 weeks off (in which time they will have their dance recital so things will be hectic) Then the 2 older ones will have summer school for 3/4 weeks (I really should look at that ) from 8-noon. Alyssa is also going to go to cheer camp the 1st week in june and vball camp (not sure when it is yet - I forget these things)

Right now I am working on rummage sale stuff (but I really plan on just focusing on my handmade goodies)

Kev is good.

Stuart has a bunch of teeth, waves night night and started waving bye bye. runs all over but only says mom.

There I think that sums it up.

Re: Updates everyone!

Wow, I actually have a few minutes before my 3 youngest kiddos get home so I can actually reply for once!LOL!
Let's see...
Well, the boys are keeping me on my toes with teenage crap (and some other stuff that I can't post about just yet but don't you worry, itsacomin in the next month or so!) but really they are doing pretty good. Bailey's grades are really quite excellent now but Zach's are crappy so I will be sending him to summer school.
Both girls have straight A's but I am still going to try to get them into some kind of summer program to keep them busy. There are practically no kids left around here for them to play with (they all moved away) so I don't want them driving me LOL
Parker is getting to be so much fun! He waves bye bye, gives kisses, can say "yeah", "dada", "boo" (boob-lol) and sometimes it sounds like he is saying "bad dada". Four teeth now but still hasn't quite mastered the art of crawling completely yet. He does crawl but luckily for us it is still at a snails pace. But don't let that fool ya-the child is into EVERYTHING!
Me, well business is picking up which is great but I miss my baby boy and Jimmy during the day but I sure do like the $$! I am also really working eBay and I am lovin that $$ too! I actually have a savings account again! It isn't much but it's something! I am saving up to use for a deposit on a new rental for us (we need a HOUSE soooo bad!) and to be able to afford pool passes this summer.
Jimmy is still out of work but he was able to get the extended unemployment benefits and he is working ebay as well so he is doing fine. Just taking his time getting a job because he can and he isn't sure if he wants to go back to school or not. He already has his BS but he is negotiating whether or not to get a new degree in a totally different field or not.
Jim and I as a couple are good. We get bored just sitting around the house with baby but we are trying to keep the spark alive. It's just tough with an infant that shares your bedroom! lol Need I say more? We are still completely in love and determined to find a house to fit us all in the near future. Marriage has come up but I don't see it happening any time in the near future and I'm really just not that worried about it.
So, I think that is about all for updates here. Thanks for starting the post Lenora-I love keeping up with everyone and I really miss the old BBU days when I could sit here reading posts all afternoon!

That's awesome! I'm glad she is lovin it and I hope you find a great program for her this summer. The great thing about summer is that there are all kinds of free festivals and vacation bible school to send the kiddos to.

Re: Updates everyone!

We are doing okay... I am waiting to see the specialist on the 11th. After looking at the info on Celiac disease, I want to be tested for it. My primary care doc says the specialist will do it, so we shall see. I do have many of the symptoms so I want them to test me for it. The idea of going gluten free is a little daunting, but if that will make me better that's great. I have my good days and bad days...
I did get into nursing school so I have that to look forward to. I start my only prereq (Anatomy and Physiology) on June 2nd. I am still trying to figure out how I'm working the girls this summer. Tessa will watch her sisters for the hour between when I leave and Jim gets home when she is here... but she has several summer trips she is going on, plus a week at sleep away camp.
School will be out in 3 weeks, so summer is looming. I have Sammie and Tessa signed up to go to the YMCA summer camp. They aren't on the same week because Sammie only goes to mini camp. The great thing is, the Armed Forces YMCA covers most of the cost of Tessa's camp (not Sammie's) but it is saving me around $300. I have workbooks picked up for them so we can do schooling over the summer (just to keep them on track). Tessa will be going to Texas for almost two weeks without me, and she wants to go to Iowa and KC as well. Not sure if those trips will work out. I am taking them to VA to see Jim's brother, and a good friend of mine the last week of May. Then we as a family are going to Myrtle Beach at the beginning of August to visit George and Shona. I haven't seen the kids in almost 4 years, and Jim has NEVER met the kids and only Shona once. We are excited for that trip...

I started an etsy store because several people said they wanted to buy bags, but so far no orders. I'm okay with that... I am going to make some up in my spare time and post them. If they sell great, and if not that's okay too.
We are also having a yard sale next weekend to try and raise some funds for our summer trip. That's really about it...

Re: Updates everyone!

Krista! You should apply for financial aid and see if you can get the kids into the YMCA camp. I know we make too much for it (which sucks but they included our housing allowance) but you are a single Mom. They even have transportation to and from St. Louis... Here is the link if you are interested Dates & Fees | YMCA of the Ozarks

Re: Updates everyone!

Heather, I don't know if it would help if you do test positive for Celiacs, but in the last 2 years or so, the food options have at least doubled and the taste too! More and more restaurants are adding GF menus, so it isn't as hard as it was when I was first diagnosed. Oh, and if you like Mexican food, you can still eat A LOT of that. :P

Nothing to report here, all 5 kids are great, Simon and Emi are on the waiting list for speech therapy, (who knew there was a wait list?!) so that's our newest hurdle. PT is going well, Billy has been really busy at work, big kids are great, grades are great, no complaints!
