Who has nurslings?

Anyone still nursing?
Parker is 10mos old and has definitely been weaning. He is just tooooo busy during the day to lay around nursing on Mama! He does nurse quite a bit early mornings and sometimes before bedtime though.
I asked the Ped. about PJ not taking formula and she said that Pediasure was fine. Just wanted to give ya'll an update on that. Parker hasn't gained any weight in 3mos so she isn't concerned about it putting on too much. That boy is so dern active that it's a wonder that he isn't losing weight! He keeps me on my toes that is for sure!

So anyone nursing? How's it going?

Re: Who has nurslings?

We are! 15 months If it was up to him he wouldn't quit. But we are trying to wean for HIS benefit. He only nurses at night for the most part (and an occasional day) but she thinks his nursing at pm is preventing him from getting the calories he needs during the day. The little monkey is holding steady in his weight and while it would be ok - When he was born he was up at like the 95% and now he's barely hanging onto the 10% for weight. SO we are trying to beef him up. HE has to go back for a weight check in 6 weeks and hopefully he's put on some weight.

Re: Who has nurslings?

Well I am sure he is just dropping down in the weight chart due to being active. I know that is what it is for Parker. The past few days Parker won't eat solids hardly at all though. Not sure if it is his teeth or what We think that he had 5th disease last week so not sure if his throat is bothering him or what. He had the rash that started on his cheeks and then ended up covering his whole body as well as a fever and runny nose. The fever is gone but the rash is still fading as well as his nose. If he doesn't start eating in a couple of days I am going to take him to check his throat in case it is strep or something.
I hope Stuart starts gaining for ya soon though. I would just push higher calorie foods during the day like pudding, yogurt, pastas etc. Let us know how he does and congratulations on nursing so long! Emily nursed for 18mos and Payton nursed for 21mos! Payton was potty training at the same time that she was weaning

Re: Who has nurslings?

Our ped told us to offer him higher calorie foods but the suggestions she gave us he wants NOTHING to do with (peanut butter, avocado)

She thinks he's just dropped & leveled due to his incessant need to be running around the house Thats why we are just doing a weight check in 6 weeks. She's just concern that if he stays level at his 18mo check up he'll be off the bottom of the charts if we don't up his calories.
