Sooo, has anyone been bathing suit shopping yet?

My least favorite thought of summer is putting on a bathing suit. *sigh*
I'm not a big girl (a sz 6 or jr's 7/8) but I carry some baggage in my middle and thighs ... disguises well in clothing but bathing suits seem to accentuate the issues.

I'm not going shopping this year as I am the same size as last year and can just use on of my old ones. I have 4 that I can live with ...
A basic black suit with a stripe of white high on the waist ... I like this one because it is slimming, don't like it because it is a sporty cut with a high back.
A black with tiny teal polka dots vintage looking "dress" style suit ... love this suit's cut, hate how it makes me feel like a fat person in disguise.
A red with white floral halter style suit ... love how this suit looks on (probably my favorite) ... I can't move though or the bust pulls too low.
A black vintage cut with rouched panel on front ... another REALLY cute suit but the vintage cut leg openings go right across the chunkiest part of my thigh and I just don't think it's flattering.

Gawd no! I have a pretty hideous one that I bought to wear while preggo last year that unfortunately still fits so it will do until I lose at least another 10lbs. Bathing suit season is freaking depressing and I won't even look at myself in a suit yet. Bleh! I can't believe that only 2 summers ago I was wearing a bikini! It's amazing how fast your body can go from wow to OMG-YUCK!

I had to buy a new one (size 14/16) since last year's is way too big (size 20). Got it at Penney's. they had alot of cute ones, but darn they are awfully expensive! I got it back in early April on sale half price and it was still about $50 for both pieces.

I have one that still fits - I think I got it last year or a few summers before. I am in the OMG YUCK stage and don't go to the pool AT ALL. WAY too self conscious. We just hang in the hot tub @ home or I let them play in the sprinkler. I can't do 4 little ones who can't swim @ pool by myself.

I tend to stay away from the city pool too. I think I only put on a bathing suit once last year and that was to take the kids to the lake ... late in the evening when no one else would be there.
