I guess I am the odd one out that hasn't read the books or seen the movies. Well, I did see clips from one of the movies. I thought the acting was terrible. The guys were at least good looking, but the girl - I have seen better performances out of a stick of wood. I am not a huge Harry Potter fan, but at least it had special effects. Although, I didn't really like the Harry Potter movies, I liked them better than what I saw of Twilight. I had a hard time figuring out why these two guys are fighting over this one girl in a world full of available girls - especially when you are as good looking as that Jacob guy. He is yummy. His yumminess is not enough to make me want to see more. Movies are filled with good looking guys. I can watch movies of guys with a greater store of talents than removing their shirts which seems to be this Jacob guy's big acting gift. He does it well, but so do all those male underwear models. I just can't figure out what the big deal is. If I am going to watch a vampire movie, I'll watch Blade, because Wesley Snipes can take off his shirt and do martial arts. If I want to read a vampire book, I'll read Anne Rice, because her vampires are good looking and they have lots of hot sex. I guess I just like two things out of a vampire movie and those are sex and violence and these movies seem to have neither.

Besides, werewolves always get the short shift. If a vampire bites you, you die or your turn into a cold blooded killer who drinks other people's blood. If a werewolf bites you, instead of AF, you turn into a wolf at night once a month. Now is that so bad?

If I find it laying around free, I might read the book. I only have enough money to buy books I know i will like. I know I don't necessarily like the super popular books. I didn't think Harry Potter was anything special. On the other hand, I love Terry Prachett and I'll bet a lot of people have never heard of him. Well, obviously, millions of people have heard of him since he is a top selling author. He's not like JK Rowlings (aka not a writer for teens or ultra famous). Then again, she's written 7 top selling books and he's written at least 30 or 40.

I don't really like vampire/horror books. I don't like romances either. I'll pass. I tried to read the original Dracula by Bram Stoker and only got through the first chapter. I enjoyed the Anne Rice books, but she is an exceptional writer.
