Dance fever sweeping through Israeli military

Remember a few weeks back when a video featuring a group of U.S. soldiers stationed in Afghanistan performing their own version of Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” video stormed the Internet? Well, it looks like they’ve got some competition from their counterparts in the Israeli military, AFP reports.

Dance fever sweeping through Israeli military - Yahoo! News

Political Incorrectness Warning: I remember how they pray like a thousand times a day in the Middle East. You have to stop everything while they pray. You can't shop. You can't talk. You can't do anything while they have their multiple prayer sessions that last 15 or 20 minutes. Heaven help you if you need directions to the restroom while someone might be praying! In Saudi, if you don't "respect" their prayer times (like maybe walk over to a bench and sit down or read a newspaper), the religious police come and beat you up. So I think it is just flipping hilarious the Israellis not only patrolled, but did a little dance during prayer time.

I'm sorry, I find these videos totally hilarious ... not so much the actual video, as picturing these soldiers (the epitome of manliness & discipline) choreographing and rehearsing dance moves ... That is some serious boredom.

Oh I Imagine the Muslims are all upset over these soldiers dancing during their prayer time. They're probably having a conniption fit like they did over Draw Muhummad Day.

Re: Dance fever sweeping through Israeli military

My issue with this would be if they meant for it to be directly disrespectful toward another faith or people (imo Draw Muhhamed day was borderline). HOWEVER, they pray 5 times a day and at slightly different times every day ... Did the soldiers know exactly when the adhan was going to start? Maybe, maybe not. If I don't follow a certain religion, I am not going to keep up with when their rituals take place.
It seems to me that it was just for fun and not meant as a insult to anyone ... but that is just my opinion.

I agree. Did they in any way stop or impede anyone's ability to pray? No. The dance didn't even last a minute. The only thing I can see they did wrong was dance on duty. However, everyone (at least everyone one bit honest) has screwed off a little bit on the job.

I don't care what anyone else thinks. These videos are FUNNY! Our soldiers and others are just trying to have a good time in a bad situation. I'm glad they can have a good time in bad times.
