I'm new and looking to connect with others who might understand the TTC journey.
I am 29 with four beautiful children ages 10, 8, 5, and 3. My first marriage of of 10 years ended unexpectedly 2 years ago though that turned out to be a blessing. Last year I met an amazing man and we have been happily married for almsot 2 months now. Just before the wedding we agreed to have another baby and to begin TTC.
After my youngest was born I tried the Merina IUD. For two years it was fine but after developing some unpleasant side effects I had it removed a year ago and replaced with a copper IUD (paragard). I was happy with it and always had normal cycles while it was in place. It was removed in April.
While I am well aware, intellectually that we have only been trying 2 months and I should not be surprised nothing has come of it- I have been very frustrated each time AF has come. With my others I didn't have to 'try'. Two were a surprise and two came about as soon as I stopped trying to prevent it. I honestly expected that to happen again (I guess I expected a honeymoon baby).
For the first time I am trying to know my cycle. I have used a site to help tell me when the best days to try are and to keep track of when to test etc. I have read about the OPK's that are available and the whole body temprature thing, but I don't quite know how much either of thsoe would help.
I know lots of people out there have tried a lot harder for their first babies, I know I've been lucky! But is anyone else out there impatient too?
