BTS Shopping...

Who's in denial and who's ahead of the game?

I absolutely refuse to believe that summer break is more than half over. I hadn't even started thinking about bts clothes and supplies until someone mentioned it yesterday.
I'm thinking I'm going to pass off a few new outfits for Haley as birthday gifts and then let each other them buy one new outfit for the first day of school ... they have so much clothes ... they may not be "new" but they definitely aren't worn out.

Re: BTS Shopping...

Mine don't get new clothes. Just can't afford it. They get new shoes and the supplies thats it. The last thing they need is more clothes.

Re: BTS Shopping...

I made the girls each a new outfit for the first day of school (well Karah's isn't done yet but will be). I picked her up a backpack, and made her a lunchbox too.
I haven't bought any supplies yet because the school supply list is too generic. I'm going to pick up just a few things for them (crayons and paper) and leave the rest till school starts. Last year the teacher's had their own supply lists that were different than the one the school district put out and I'm not buying a bunch of stuff they don't need.
As for clothes, they all have plenty of clothes that fit right now so I decided to hold off until they actually NEED clothes.
Oh... and Karah does need a pair of dress shoes but other than that we are set.

Re: BTS Shopping...

I am just watching the sales for the penny items at Office Max etc for school supplies for now. Not going to buy any new clothes till after the move except maybe one new outfit each for the first day. The biggest expense will probably be new shoes since they all need them desperately. I am really going to try to do BTS as cheaply as possible this year since we have the move in a few months.

Re: BTS Shopping...

Drew definitely doesn't need new clothes and I told him that. He's fine with what he has, but his supplies normally cost between $50 and $100. Ally will get new jeans (since all hers are getting too short), but I will wait until the weather cools to buy them. They really don't NEED more clothes.

Re: BTS Shopping...

I ordered their school shoes Friday from Jumping Jacks. Cost a small fortune, but the Jumping Jacks will probably last all year, so they are worth it in the long run. I have only bought one thing from their supply list, composition notebooks, because they had them out at WalMart for .25 cents each. Since they each need 7, (total14!!) I scooped those up before they run out. I didn't have the list with me, so I didn't get anything else because I couldn't remember anything other than the comp books.
This weekend, when I go to WalMart, I am going to bring their list so I can get that out of the way. As far as uniforms go, we need to let out the hems in their jumpers. (My Mom is doing that for me.) We just bought new jumpers last year, so we don't need to buy new ones again until next school year.

Re: BTS Shopping...

I started, but only because my sitter is taking vacation in August. The last place I want to be is the mall with Simon. Anyway, they don't need a lot besides supplies and new shoes. Olivia always ends up with new things because we have no control and the boys don't care. I just want to be done by Aug. 8th when my sitter skips out of town.

Re: BTS Shopping...

Started getting their supplies together. They both need new notebooks and backpacks this year. I'll have to get them cheap ones until i can afford good ones.
