So we were "blessed" with a doll house...

If you can call it that. I went to pick up Gracie from her Dad & Stepmom's house the other day and she runs out saying "Manda said I could have a doll house if you let me". Really? Can I even consider saying "no" at this point? It irritates the crap out of me that they present ideas to her before they ask me.
Anyway, even if this doll house were in good shape (which it's not) it's not the kind that I would have considered getting. It's a big, old, plastic one with stickers stuck to it, a few cracks, and missing pieces (like a big plate from the floor, the stair rail, and oven door). On top of that, we don't own any dolls or furniture. *sigh*
Gracie is absolutely in love with the idea that she has a doll house though. So I got to thinking last night ... Is there any way that I could fix this thing up? Maybe find something that can look like a rug to cover the big hole in the floor? Or some self stick wallpaper for the walls? Throw some ideas at me ladies, I need them!

Contact paper for the walls (you know the shelf liner stuff they sell at walmart and dollar general). You could get the woodgrained one and make hardwood floors for her too.

You can get some fabric remnants if you have a fabric store and make a rug, or watch for something at the goodwill you can grab for cheap and cut a rug out of (those fuzzy sweaters come to mind).

For furniture you can use empty spools (I don't know what size you are talking here) or cut up some shoe boxes. Then cover them with that colored duct tape to make them pretty.
I will think some more....
