A Fish Story?

My dh says that there are tons of stories on the web lately about the benefits of eating fish while pg and TTC. I knew fish was healthy, but I didn't realize that it was THAT healthy. Has anyone else heard about this? Of course, his idea of "all over the place" could be a bunch of obscure science sites. Let me know, if he is just tricking me into eating a lot of fish lately.

I don't know about for TTC, but for PG you have to be careful eating fish and seafood. They can contain a high level of mercury which is bad for the baby. So If anyone is PG you should talk to your doctor if you eat a lot of fish.

I have heard of that before...but not a lot. As far as pregnancy goes, it can't hurt to eat it in moderation, but I wouldnt go overboard(as with everything else).

I found it! Here's a link about fish and pregnancy:

I have been looking around. It is only fish from the Great Lakes that you are not supposed to eat. Other fish is still good for you.

I know something!! Around here we have LOTS of lakes...and they post things in the doctors offices about which lakes contain a high level of mercury...which are some of the most popular lakes to go fishing in. Some lakes have mercury levels so high at certain times of the year...it's not safe for ANYBODY to eat fish from them!!
