How many years between babies?

I'm just curious to know, how many years between babies do you plan to wait or did wait before TTC again? And what are your reasons for waiting the time you are or did and would you do anything differently?

I was thinking to myself the other day, whether I would be happy if we only had one child. And while I'm overwhelmed with happiness with Sydney, I feel that my family doesn't just stop here. So I told Marco that a year from now, we will be expecting again.
So that is why I am wondering if a year is too soon or maybe we should wait a little longer?

Well, I think how long you leave between is a personal decision, but Jason and I would like to leave 2 years between each child, if possible, but that is also because of my work.

Well, eventhough our situation was not really a conscious decision, The boys are 14 months older than Olivia. It has been really trying at times to have 3 kids under the age of 2, but I see it as such a positive. They're close enough in age to form a real bond, and I love watching the boys "take care of their sister". Of course, the 3 college educations almost at once is going to kick our a$$, I've been enjoying it. JMO.... Of course, since we plan on adopting our next one (in a few years) I hope they bond with her as well. I guess it really doesn't matter and I have just been babbling for no reason....

Hey Dana if you can't babble about your kids what can you babble about you go for it

There are 6.5 yrs between Ds#1 and #'s 2 & 3. I was on my own when I had Greg and while DH and I have been together since DS #1 was 2.5 I was having little problem with cervical cancer and had to wait until I was given the all clear a couple of years later. (Thank God for pap smears and early warnings!!)

Peter and I plan on 4 years between our kids. I'm 6 years younger than the youngest boy (Eric and Troy are 18 months apart...Troy and Kurt are 5 years apart...and Kurt and I are 6 years apart) and I don't think we would be any closer if we tried. I like having larger gaps in ages......I don't know way..

Well, Alexander is 20 months and although I had wanted to be expecting again by now, I had some medical problems that had to be dealt with first. Now, we are TTC and if I conceive quickly, our children will be about 2 1/2 years apart.

I always said I wanted my kids about 3 years apart (that's the age difference with me and my younger brother), but since I didn't have my first until a month before I turned 30, I decided 2 years would be a perfect gap since we want to have 3 or 4 total. But it looks like my original 3 years apart is what's gonna happen!!

I agree with Melanie that the time frame you decide on is a personal decision and whether you decide to have your kids one year apart or five, that'll be perfect for you!!
