Questions for all the planned pregnancy mothers

Okay, for all of you ladies who had planned the birth of your children I would like to know what to ask the doctor. Dh and I are thinking ttc in a couple of months. I figure my next doctors appt. next monday will be the last time I will see him until I get pregnant. I figured I would mention that we wanted to start ttc. Is there any questions I should ask him? Should I get on a vitamin 2 months before? Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Since Kaylin was a surprise we didn't have to go through these things before.

I think you should definitely mention it to your doctor. It's a very good idea to start taking a prenatal vitamin now. That way you won't have to worry if you're getting enough folic acid in your diet.

If the doctor you see is the one you think you'll have deliver your baby, you should ask him if he'll want to schedule a c-section when you get close to your due date. My doctor wanted me to try a VBAC with my second baby. If there are other doctors in his practice, I'd ask about how they determine who's on call for problems and deliveries. For example, my SIL had one doctor she always saw for prenantal visits, but when she went into labor, a different doctor (who she didn't like) delivered the baby.

Good luck!

Thanks Maree. Well I'm not going to go to any doctor that would want me to do a VBAC. No way in he**, after what happened with Kaylin. I'm too small and I know that baby couldn't fit through me. I wanna know what date and time I will be delivering.

Questions to ask.....anything you can think of! I would write them down....
Tell your doctor you are thinking about TTC and when.
Ask about vitamins...They didn't put me on any...but I did go out and buy them...
Asking about the doctors set up is go. At mine..there's about 5 docs...and every visit you see a different one so you are comfy with all of them.
Don't forget...ask his opition!
Good luck!!

All my questions revolved around my MS and my dh's Lupus. I can almost guarentee he will tell you to quit smoking, quit drinking alchol and to reduce or quit drinking caffine. From everything I have read, all these things are a good idea. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. My situation is very different from most people's. Good luck!
