Just a little about my childrens' births

I have two sons and a daughter. All three pregnancies were rather normal. No real complications. I only had morning(day and night)sickness for a few weeks with each one. My complications arose during and after the delivery. My first son was born for only a few minutes when they noticed him turning blue. To make a LONG story short, he had Persistant Fetal Circulation(a total fluke that just happens upon birth) and pneumonia. He stayed in the hospital 28 days. My second son was born. The first 10 minutes everything was fine. Then he too, started turning blue. We couldn't believe this was happening again. Shortened version again, Connor was born with pneumonia. They treated him with antibiotics right away. Later they found out he had Beta Strep. The medicine they were treating the pneumonia with was the same they used for Beta Strep. If he had not been born with pneumonia and instantly giving this antibiotic, he could've died or had brain damage. I never thought I would thank God for my children being sick. He too was in the hospital for 20 plus days. Beta Strep is preventable and if I had had the test done, it could have been avoided. Well, I had my daughter last year and Praise the Lord! she was born healthy! I had to do some extra things to protect her from the beta strep but of course it was worth it!!! If you have any questions about beta Strep feel free to ask. I feel like I know too much about the topic. I know this isn't the normal birth story but just wanted to share!

Thanks for sharing that Tricia! I'm so happy your little ones are OK now. I can't imagine how devastating it is to leave the hospital without your baby. And twice at that!

I've definitely got to get on the ball and post my birth stories too!
