Attorney General John Ashcroft says heightened terror alert prompted by "specific intelligence" pointing to threats against U.S. interests in South Asia and Mideast.

Rick works at the VA hospital here in Houston, and he told me that they went on alert status yesterday. Which means that only 1 of the 19 entrances to the hospital will be open, with armed guards checking every car that goes in AND out. Now I know why. It's very scary.

Tim works for USAA and they are on full alert.

The USAA Broadcast Messaging System stated that there are reports that Terrorists plan on targeting a tourist destination outside the United States.

I'm kind of worried. I'm scared that something might happen here in Canada.

This stinks, as if tomorrow wasn't going to be sad enough. Now we have to add a heightened sense of fear to the mix. When will this end?

I try not to think about it....otherwise they win....I will be more cautious....but I refuse to live in fear (I've already done that in the past...adn it sucks)

I just want to stay home and hold my babies tight.

Leah, I totally understand that you're scared. I'm in Australia and am fearful of an attack myself. Unfortunatly most of the western world is at threat.
Please PM me if you need to talk

Annie, I think you are right, I doubt that there is going to be an attack while there is such hight security today, atleast in the anyway. Sydney, Australia, is more likely to get attacked today, infact, we are all on orange alert here too.

My thoughts are with everyone and pray that we are all safe.
to you all.
