How much do you know about religion?

And how do you compare with the average American? Here's your chance to find out.

Take our short, 15-question quiz, and see how you do in comparison with 3,412 randomly sampled adults who were asked these and other questions in the U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey. This national poll was conducted by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life from May 19 through June 6, 2010, on landlines and cell phones, in English and Spanish.

When you finish the quiz, you will be able to compare your knowledge of religion with participants in the national telephone poll. You can see how you compare with the overall population as well as with people of various religious traditions, people who attend worship services frequently or less often, men and women, and college graduates as well as those who did not attend college.

Can you beat an atheist on this quiz?  Good luck, because I got 100%.  *laughs evilly*

Well I didn't do so hot ... I scored a 73% missing 4 questions ... the funny thing is, all the questions I missed were Christian based ... a few on Catholicism, the one on Protestant Reformation, and the one having to do with an Evangelist.

I had a little trouble with the last one. I could easily figure it out through the process of elimination. To be fair, I have taken courses through the methodist church and the university on the history of religion. Also, I remembered a lot from the world religions class dh took. Having actually studied the subject in college was an advantage.

I got 86%, missed 2.  The last question I was just clueless, having never heard of it.  And I clicked the wrong on about the Jewish Sabbath.  I KNOW it strts on Friday, but for some reason i clicked on Saturday.  Brain burp or not paying attention, I guess.  All in all, not to shabby for someone who refuses to attend the services of any organized religion (altho i encourage the kids to).

The last one would be hard to know unless you'd taken a class in religious history.

It does not matter that what is your religion. The thing which matters is the faith, belief. If you are performing rituals, prayers but do not have faith then it will generate no benefit but if you have very solid belief on God and your rituals then it can perform miracles for you.
