OMG Is it really October?

Time is flying!  Has the weather cooled down where you are?

We had a week of much colder weather (50's) and then this week it went back up into the 70's.  I think today starts a new downward swing though.

Yeah it's been up and down here. Been getting down into low 40's at night..Noticed yesterday the trees in my backyard are starting to change. Was frost on the rees when kids left for school this morning. Think fall is my favorite time of year, followed by spring.  Not huge on summer and winter. One is to hot the other is too cold. Fall is wonderful, with trees changing, cool, but not cold. Home seems a little warmer and cozier. Then theres Mars Applefest - so awesome. Anything apple u will find there. You can get homemade apple butter that'll blow your mind.  Halloween and Thanksgiving...I love love love fall!

I've been running my heater.  Our trees started to change a week or two ago, but I'm in the mountains, so fall comes sooner for us.

We have had our furnace on since AUGUST!!!! We had a very cool summer....which means it looks like we are going to have a very cold winter :(  I really hate the cold.....I hate having to run out and start my van 20 min before i go anywhere....i hate having to bundle up in super layers of clothes because we can vary by 10-30 degrees F in a single day.....

I hate shovling snow......and scrapping ice...

on the flip side:

I love watchign my kids make snow angels in the soft snow

I love watching my kids try to make snowmen (but the snow is so soft and dry that the snowballs fall apart in their hands)

I love watching my kids trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues as they fall from the sky

I love watching the sun glisten off the ice on the trees

I love the clean look of the soft white snow

ok I feel a bit better now about FREEZING MY A$$ OFF  :rotfl:

I love  this time of year! Its been in teh 60s/70s but this weekend (or is it next?) its supposed to turn cold. (like 50s) Eh so we toss on a light coat - no biggie. I just think about how when Winter is over and Spring comes we all want to wear shorts when it hits 50 cause its a heat wave :)

We were just talking about that the other day at work ... how the first cool days of fall we are all shivering and talking about how "cold" we are but the first warm (50's) day of spring we're all wearing short sleeves and talking about how nice it is to be "warm". lol

I love fall too ... I don't like being cold and I hate the thought that winter will be here soon but fall activities are some of my favorite.

The weather here in Houston has been GORGEOUS!  Upper 40's/low 50's at night to upper 70's during the day.  Too cold for shorts in the morning, but to warm for pants in the afternoon.  I have been encouraging the kids to get out and blow off some steam every day while the weather is nice.  The problem is that the pollen count (mostly ragweed) has been off the charts for well over a month now (hence my sinus infection which lead to the ear infection).  We have to keep the AC on just to get the pollen out of the air in the house!  Ugh!  We are changing the filters about every 2 weeks it's so bad.  but we really are enjoying the cool after a summer of 100+ every day!
