HAS ANYONE EVER TRIED THE HCG DIET OR HEARD OF IT?

I am trying this new diet....i have been on it for a week, the first two days you take the hcg drops and load up on all you can eat. You have to actually pretty much stuff yourself....which was easy to do the first day, not so easy the second day LOL, then the dieting part begins...with a really restricted low cal diet that you do for either 27 or 40 days depending on the amount of weight you want to lose. Now normally if you do a super low cal diet (500 calories) your body would attack your muscles and not the fat, your body would save it....BUT not with the HCG diet. You take drops (yes hcg is the pregnancy hormone) and that is the trick to this diet. Your body then will shed off the unwanted fat and leave your muscle alone. Is it hard? Not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I am on day 7. I have lost 10.2lbs and feel great and already notice that a pair of my favorite lounge pants are not nearly as snug as they used to be. I have no cravings.....even when i am making dinner for Jerry and the kids. Now the part that would suck on all this is if you are the type of person who does not like veggies....as all you are allowed to eat twice a day is 100g of white fish, chicken breast, beef, venison, bison, veal. then you can add to that spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, radishes, asparagus, celery and a couple of other things i can't think of at the moment. With the above meal you also have a grissino (bread stick) or 1 piece of melba toast. then for "dessert after each meal (or as a snack) You are allowed an apple, orange, handful of strawberries or 1/2 a grapefruit I have already started to get creative with my meals. I tried the first couple of days to stick to just one veggie at a meal, but its nice to be able to mix it up a bit too. If i have a salad then i will just do that, add vinegar and add my meat.....and save my apple for a bit later. Once i have done this diet, after the 40 days, you stop the drops, keep up with the 500 calories. this gets the drops out of your system before you add other foods. Once you have done that for 3 days, you then do the basic atkins type diet for 3 week, no carbs no sugar. then youcan start introducing foods in again. this diet is designed to "reset" your hypothalamus. there is a 75-85% success rate of people not gaining the weight back after wards......I am looking forward to being in that stat.....average weight loss is 1-2lb/day. If you cheat, you will know it as it will show gthe next day when you hop on the scale.

Yes, my friend from college told me about it.  She had a friend who lost about 40 lbs in three months.  Now, this lady had 150-200 lbs to loose, so she'll be on it for a long while.

I may look into this. Are you eating the veggies raw or cooked?  Raw is a deal breaker for me until I get my dentures in, but if you can have them cooked, great!  The only thing I'm not liking is the no sugar thing, which means giving up my DP's - which in turn means no caffeine in the morning.  Oh well!  It's not like it will be forever.

Sometimes I cook them, sometimes i eat them raw.....the funny thing is that don't crave the junk food and stuff...

Today was a bad day for  me as I got taken out for lunch to a place that does buffet and there was nothing there that I could really eat.....so i cheated....which i know will end up on teh scale tomorrow :(  but it was sooo good....and i stayed away from the dessert....which is a big thing for me!@!!!

Sweets are not my problem - never have been.  My problem is I just like food!  LOL!  I'm not big on sweets, but I loathe the idea of giving up sugar completely - mostly in my drinks.  I am down to about 3 DP's per day (thatis from 6-8 perday, so I'm doing well).  The rest of the day I usually drink Kool-Aid which I make less sweet, but it still has sugar.  Are you drinking only water? Is there anything else you can have?

I drink green tea, coffee and regular tea (although you have to have them black), and water with Lemon. Its actually not all that bad. You get used to it after awhile.....and I foudn flavored stevia that i put in my coffee so i can have flavored coffee

Well, that could be a problem for me.  I don't keep artifical sweetners in the house becase the kids react adversely to them (except for Rick's Sweet-N-Low for his coffee and it's just nasty).  I don't like tea w/o sugar, but I could try it w/ just lemon.  I don't drink coffee, either.  Guess I'm kinda stuck on drinks, but you can get used to anything, right?  And I do like chilled water with lemon or lime in it.

Been looking into different diets lately to start after the first of the year.  So far, I've only run across a few that actually sound like they are doable and actually good for you.
