My sister's youngest boy is in town this weekend and called me early today to set up a time to see us on Sunday. He called back a little while later to say his hotel room wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours, so Rick and I raced up to the mall to visit with him for awhile. I haven't seen him since he got married 5 1/2 years ago, and he hasn't changed much. He just turned 26, just started a new job making a 6 figure salary *faint*, and moved back from Arkansas to just north of Dallas (where my sister lives).
We were planning on taking the kids to RenFair Thanksgiving weekend, but financially, it's just not going to be possible. While we are all bummed about it, we do have something else we can do. My parents are going to my sisters house for Thanksgiving. Devlin and his family are already living there, plus my sister's oldest is planning to be there. So we are thinking about driving up Thursday night so I can spend all day Friday with my parents. Mom and Dad are leaving Sat am (long drive back to Nashville), so we would also. If I can come up with the price of a hotel room for 2 nights, I will get to see all of them! Devlin told me to let him know either way, meaning he is willing to pay for the hotel room. How sweet is that!?! Keep your fingers crossed. I rarely get to see my family and I really don't want to miss this opportunity!
