Homemade Bath Salts

These are SO easy it's funny...

I made a batch of these today to give out to my study group as Christmas gifts and to my couple of friends here.

I made a larger batch then this recipe calls for, so just increased as needed.

3/4 cup Epsom Salts

3/4 cup Sea Salt (or rock salt)

2 green tea bags

You can add fragrance if you like and coloring (but not food coloring it will stain the tub).  I choose not to do either because the tea smells good.

Mix them together and then place in a jar of some sort. It can be used in the bath tub or as a foot soak.

I think I'm gonna make a second batch with the girls for their teachers.

I spent 1.89 for a cute little jar at WalMart, $2 for the Epsom Salt (Enough to make 8 jars), $2 for the Sea Salt (again enough for 8 jars).  I don't know what the green tea cost (bought it awhile ago and hadn't drank it so just pulled it out of the cabinet).

So minus the tea bag  $2.39 each.

Makes a great little present of some sort to give to someone.

How do you make 8 jars with only 2 tea bags?

Brenda... That recipe doesn't make 8 jars, I think it only makes two or three.  I increased all of the ingredients.  I used 4 cups each of the salts, and then 6 tea bags to make 8 jars worth.

so do you take the ingredients from the tea bags then and put it in with the sea salts and epsom salts?

You can also do essential oils instead of tea bags to make different scents as well

Yep, I just ripped the bags open and mixed the insides with the salts.  I would have liked to try some with essential oils, but they are hard to find here.  What I get for living in the middle of nowhere :)
