I was pleasantly surprised to actually get Christmas gifts this year ...

My mom sent pink sweater slippers from ON

My sister sent my FAVORITE chocolate bars ... smoked almonds and sea salt ... that you can only get in Chicago or NC.

From my Dad I got a Target card

and Chad gave me a perfume and lotion that I wanted ... oh and a subway card.

All the kids gave me gifts they had made as well.

Overall it was a very nice Christmas! :)

Aw, I'm glad you had a nice Christmas Elaine! :)

My parents gave me a Visa gc, Applebee's gc (with a free night of babysitting so Jimmy and I can go out) and some other misc items

Jim's parents gave us wall sconces, a soap set and money.

Jimmy and I didn't really exchange gifts since we just moved into the house but he did give me money that I used some to buy Issey Mayake perfume that I have been DYING to have. It was on such a good sale on Sephora that I couldn't pass it up-LOL

Um lets see. Kev & I never exchange gifts. (for anything its really no fun)

Katie gave me (& dad)  a calender made at school with her hand prints.

I got A&W mugs for everyone in the family with a gallon of A&W From Tom

& I got pictures from last Christmas to put in my frame with a little basket with a votive holder & snowman ornament.

I have 2 more Christmases to do next weekend.

How come you guys get a lot of gifts on Christmas while men don't?

My inlaws sent me a body bath and perfume thing that I am allergic to. Otherwise, I didn't get anything. That's ok. It's the kids who matter. Now, I have to find someone to regift it to that I don't see very often. LOL!

Awww ... that's sad!  I don't typically get a lot of gifts ... this was just a good year.  Men are just so hard to shop for ...

Everything I got was for me & my husband. SO he got the same that I got.

Let's see...  I got a polish pottery sugar bowl from Karah, a candle from Sammie, some spun glass angel ornaments from Tessa.  Jim got me a stick blender (I had one in Germany but gave it away when we left because of the voltage difference).

Jim got half of the stuff he needs to make homemade beer...   I ordered a beer brewing set off ebay but it never came and I didn't get the refund in time to get a different one.  I ordered the ingredients from a different place so they came.  He also got a little tool thingy from Tessa, and a coffee cup from Karah.

Together Jim and I got 1000 thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets from his parents, and 1/3 of a beef.

1/3 of beef - pretty good gift!  Of course, it probably wouldn't last long around here with all these teenagers!  LOL!

I didn't get anything from Rick or the kids that I didn't know about (heck, I even wrapped most of it!  :)  LOL!)  I got a gold chain and a beautiful gold bracelet (what I specifically asked for).  The kids got me the new Hoyle Card Games and Hoyle Board/Puzzle Games (which I picked out myself), Rick got me seasons 1 & 2 of Bones (saw them when he asked me to wrap them *rolleyes*), Bill got me a gorgeous Celtic blanket (which he showed to me to make sure I liked it in case he needed to send it back *sigh*).  Rick and I also "gave" each other a new set of Paula Deen pots and pans (ours are falling apart) and he got me a new emersion (have no idea how to spell that) (stick) blender.  I've had them for like 2 months, but haven't been able to use them.  Oh, and the kids and Rick also got me a recipe box full of Crock Pot Recipes and a cookbook of diabetic crockpot recipes (I think they are trying to tell me something).  Actually, I made out like a bandit this year.  I don't normally get nearly so much.  I think Rick was trying to make up for no real birthday.  He didn't need to, but it was nice, anyway.

The best part?  We paid cash for everything, so NO BILLS!

I know Brenda!  When Jim's parents told us they were paying for our share of the beef we are splitting but no birthday or anniversary present this year, I told them it was a deal.  Heck, I hope they repeat that gift every year we live here.

Steve and I didn't exchange gifts this year.

My brother sent us a Swiss Colony package.  My sister sent us some cookies.  We did a white elephant/rob your neighbor gift exchange with Steve's family.  I got some scratch off tickets and won $18.

The managers I support gave me a $50 Walmart gift card (a little over half of that was spent on groceries and the rest of it I used to get a new can opener).

I'll tell you what. I've known my husband for almost 20 years and I STILL have a hard time buying for him unless he tells me something specific that he wants.  He's a comp tech and a gamer, but after years of it, I now refuse to buy him gaming supplies.  And I know nothing about the computer games he plays, so unless he tells me a specific one, he ain't getting it from me!  LOL!  I tend to buy him clothes and movies.  Guys ARE hard to buy for unless you know exactly what they want.

Gift cards to Lowe's or Home Depot are my solution.  That's a big favorite with all the men in my life.

Yeah, you're actually right and was joking. My wife used to buy me shirts and all men stuff she could think of but I just kinda not like them and that often offend her. The more gifts she buys the more reason she has to get offended if not disappointed.
