Just don't feel like it

What do you do on those days?  The days when you really don't feel like working out.  Do you have any things you do to make you do it or do you just give up on those days...

 

I have a couple of techniques for those days.  If I'm planning to work out, I get dressed in my workout clothes instead of in regular clothes (I know this won't work for those of you who work).  If my plan for the day includes the gym and I don't feel like it, I will text a friend to meet me there for a class or to workout.  I fully admit, if I am helping someone else I'm more likely to do it... yes, I do know how sad that is.  I will look at pictures of me before, and remind myself how that felt.... How much work I have done to not be there anymore and remind myself that i don't want to be there again.


What do you do on those days....

I haven't gotten back into working out since the year my entire family was sick for a year in 2009.  I have to get back into working out period.  I just don't have any energy.  I keep thinking once this MS attack is over and the house is set up, I'll get back to it.  Sounds like you have a good plan.

On those day ... I just don't do it. *blush*  I'm horribly unmotivated when it comes to working out and eating well ... and this cold weather doesn't help.

I'm MUCH more likely to do something if I have company...

Elaine...  I know how you feel, that's where I was a couple of months ago.  I had a day where I REALLY didn't want to go, but when I got up my friend texted me that she really wanted to go work out and would I please come with her.  I went so she would.... and ended up enjoying myself of course.  Now I do that if I don't want to go.... Of course that only works because I do the same for her.  I think if one of us said in response to that, nah I don't feel like it either that would be the end.

I have no where to work out in this house and it's too cold for walking right now, even here in Houston (38 right now - brrrrr!).  Since I tend to avoid exercise like the plague, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do.  I don't mind walking, but since I despise cold weather, that will have to wait until it warms up.  Right now I am just concentrating on eating better and getting more water in to myself on a daily basis.

Well, I've finally gotten a couple friends to agree to join the gym with me ... our plan is to go sign up for 1 month to try it out on our next payday (next Friday) ... then we'll see if anyone actually goes after that!
