Everyone safe?

Is everyone safe from the storms?  How much snow did you get?

Safe and bored here.  I think we've gotten 8+ inches.

It's still coming down here. We've gotten at least 8" or more now. Everyone is home..safe and sound. Luckily, Jim's two days off were yesterday and today so I didn't have to worry about him out in this mess. We are bored to death too but thank God we haven't lost power yet. It could be sooooo much worse.

We had 8" as of this morning. The "Blizzard" part is just starting to reach us. No real snow (this evening)  yet but the winds have picked up.

That's true.  Bored is a lot better than not having power!

We are fine...  We got around 6 inches, I know the base got 12. We didn't get as much as was expected here but the winds were bad overnight.  I think if there weren't drifts it would be deeper but I'm not sure.  We still have power.  We aren't even bored yet... The girls have cleaned their rooms, painted and gone up the street to a neighbor's and I have done schoolwork.

Today the plan is to watch movies and then later on when it gets warmer (which is so relative given the temps) go outside for just a little bit.  Let the girls work on a snowman and I'm gonna go for a ski around the neighborhood I think.  Then let Tessa do one up the street and back.

We figure Jim will be back at work tomorrow.  Not sure about the schools...

We had ice yesterday but our snow is just starting ... Ugh!

My family up in Chicago is reporting no power and over 2 ft. of snow so far. :(

Believe it or not, Houston is under a severe freeze warning.  They have been talking about closing schools since yesterday.  Drew almost killed himself when he walked out the door and slipped on a patch of ice.  It is so cold the school districts are begging parents to drive their kids and not let them walk.  Even though Drew only has to walk like 3-4 blocks, it is over majorly busy roads so I drove him again today.  Was 27 when I took him and dropped to 24 30 minutes later when I took Ally.  They are predicting snow and ice here for Thursday and Friday.  We are just not equipped for that kind of weather here.  They actually began doing 20 minutes rolling blackouts in Texas yesterday because the cold is putting such a strain on the power grids - mostly North Texas.  If it's in the low 20's here, then you know further north is worse.

I'm just trying to be happy it's not worse.  I could be living where alot of you are and have to deal with snow/blizzards.  Have I mentioned how much I hate the cold?  Brrrr!

Just feeling safe and sound here. ; )

They are talking about closing the schools early today.  Apparently the storm that was supposed to come thu late tonight is now expected sometime this afternoon.  Guess I will be watching the news all day to see what happens.

Just peachy here.  but we still have ice everywhere.  Parking lots are a mess.  Which REALLY REALLY stinks with my knee.

But really this is no different than any other winter.  I expect the snow every winter and we usually get a few ice storms so it was no biggy to me.  But i feel for those who aren't used to it!!

We ended up with a ton of ice, but no snow.
