Prayers--Trial coming up

My nephew's trial is coming up starting the end of this week.  I'm sure some of you know or remember that a almost 2 years ago he was a shaken baby.  The guy's trial is coming up.

My nephew almost died that day.  Seriously when I saw him before he was life flighted, I didn't think he would make it.  He had seizures, brain swelling, he was blind for a while after the incident and a broken leg (but the guy said he never hurt him but he had a broken leg)  And he had brain surgery a few months after the incident because of all the heavy swelling.

Our team has specialists from Children's and from Washington DC coming to defend the little munchkin as well as CYS, EMT's the local ER doctor who is saying that he looked like someone injured him.

So can you say a prayer or have positive thoughts for my nephews team of lawyers (the D.A. and the A.D.A and CYS).  And for me cause I don't want subpoened!  I

And for anyone who is curious.  He is now a walking talking busy 2 year old.  (he was 6 months old when it happened)  And he CAN see now.

I just don't say much on facebook about him because I have friends on facebook related to the guy who did it.  So you will see pics but not me talking about him.  I think the most recent pics of him are our fall pics if you all want to see him.

GUILTY!

The trial turned into a 7 day trail.  It was crazy long and now we have to wait up to 30 days for the sentencing.

Still feeling bad for the 3 girls of his but I know they have a good mom to help them through it.

This thing has been so dang drama filled, lies and it is amazing this family is all still talking.  I'm just so happy that it is over.

Yippee!  Hopefully, he'll get more than a slap on the wrist.  i wanted to voice my support for your family, but I couldn't post replies for quite awhile.  My thoughts continue to be with you.  And if this guy near shook your nephew to death, he's probably abusive to his daughters, too.  As hard as it is to have a daddy in prison, they are most likely safer with him there.  *hugs*

Actually my nephew wasn't his.  Those girl were his.  He mentioned that he wanted my nephew to be his so he had this jealousy thing going on...he was raising another man's son, blah blah blah.

There were a few things that came out in the trial that we never knew.  Like he used to call him names (the baby was 6 months old), he said when my nephew woke up in the middle of that night that he wanted to kill him.  He said this during a CYS interview where they hammered him and hammered him until he admitted that (and they waited til like midnight the night of the incident).  He forgot he said it but he said it in front of the D.A and the CYS lady AND a state trooper.  They sure didn't forget and didn't bring it up again until the trial.  I think that was the icing on the cake for him :D

I swear if my SIL would have spoken up, I would NEVER have EVER let that child go with him any of the times we did.  Instead she evidently at the time thought it was normal to call a 6 month old an asshole.  And to let a 6 month old cry and scream until they puked because he told her to stay with him on the couch.  If she wasn't so dang needy, she would have realized it wasn't normal.

I am ELATED he was found guilty!  (Would it be bad form to actually cheer?)  Sorry, I have no sympathy for those who abuse children.

I'm so sorry to hear about that Wendy. We'll include the baby in our prayers. Hope everything will be alright.

Yay! I am so glad that they found him guilty and I hope he rots in jail.

We won't know for 30 days or so.  Right now he is out of jail until the sentencing day.  Sucks cause they found him guilty so he should just be in jail.

But we were happy with the way things ended.  It sure is sad when anyone has to go through this.  We are lucky because at the end we still ended up with a baby.  He may not ever live on his own but he is alive.  Talks, walks, laughs.  Far from the boy, we were supposed to have.  Prayers really do work because he was never supposed to walk or do half the things he does now.

Here he is with Den(DH) at the corn maze we took the kids too.  He loves his Unca Denny and his Aunt Endy!!
