I'm super bust around these parts this time of year. I'm sewing & crafting my booty off for my sale the end of may.

I figured you'd be sewing and have dance recitals this time of year.  Hope all is well and it's great to see you again, Karen.  ((hugs))

Woah. It got me wondering the other day why there wasn't any activity happening in this forum. Anyways, glad to hear from you ladies. @DQKaren - Do you run a boutique or something?

She should!  No, she has an online store though, and then she does community sales up there.  She does AWESOME work!  I sew some for my kids, and have even managed to sell a few things.  However, I don't hold a candle to Karen... She does great work :)

That's so interesting. I am now fully convinced that women are more resourceful than men. I hate to admit that but I guess that's what reality is.

Thanks everyone. I've been getting better about promoting myself locally. I'm not one to self promote so it's tough for me. These girls from here keep me busy too. I do one sale locally Memorial day weekend. For two days and I am so far behind. I usually work on stuff weekends but with Lyssie's dance competitions I've been gone (more with the driving 2 hours one way) So I am into full sale mode creatingright now (well after this week - I need to make Stu a shirt/hat for Easter & the girls poodle skirts for their school play) But for a change I'm not sewing the girls Easter dresses the day before Easter. ;)

I'm just about finished with dd's birthday dress.  I was a bit horrified when dh moved her birthday party up by a week.  Yikes!  have to get busy!

What date exactly is her birthday and how old is she now?

I hear you on the Easter dresses... I bought the girls dresses this year.  Sammie wants a homemade dress for her birthday and that's my finals week!!!  Not sure it's going to happen still trying to figure that out

Her birthday is sunday.  she'll be 8.  Yikes!  it's been that long since she was born.  It seems like it was yesterday.

I made the girls dresses in MArch.. I didn't do anything for Stu though. Alyssa wants me to make hims omething but since its so cold I think I'm just going to pull a shirt out of his closet & pput him in some khaki pants. I did buy everyone of the kids new shoes though.

I need to buy my girls new shoes too.  I hope the ones in Cate's size aren't too grown up.  She's too little to be wearing heels, imo.

I actually found Ally's Easter dress at a garage sale!  Still had the tags on it and everything.  Retailed for $66 (Disney store), but I got it for $7.50!  It is white w/ an overlay of tulle.  The tulle has violets embroidered on it.  Gorgeous.  WooHoo!  Yay me!  Got her some beautiful white satin 1 in matte satin sandals (heels-her first - 1 1/2 inch) w/ rhinestones on them to go with it.  Also got a  white satin headband w/ a big tulle bow on it (lucked on out on finding that one).  All told, spent less than $30 and she will for sure be wearing it to church alot, so worth it.  Heck, the shoes were twice as much as the dress!  LOL! Gotta admit, tho - my little girl looked like quite the young lady.  Even her brother said so!
