I've also heard that Kate is a descendant of Christopher Columbus.

My dh is 9th cousins with the Queen, but she never thinks of us.

What, Are you serious? that's incredible. How did he find all about that? that must be a long list of names in your family tree.

Ancestry.com Find famous relatives button.  He is also related to both (separately) George and Laura Bush.  I love teasing him about being fairly close (4th or 5th) cousins with "W".  He detests W.  I am related to the guy who invented aspirin (the official German guy, not the thousands of Native Americans who knew about it for centuries first).  I also had family in Jamestown at the same time John Smith would have been there.
