Teething Dilema

Thread Starter
Ethan is teething something terrible. His top teeth have been peeping through for awhile now, but they're still not completely out yet. Does anybody know an ways to help soothe him? Or is there any way to stimulate the tooth to come out faster, like some kind of massage or something? This one guy I talked to said something about some all natural pill that dissolves in the baby's mouth & soothes them but I forgot what the name of it was.

The dissolving pills are called "Teething Tablets" and you can find them at Wal-Mart, Walgreen's and Eckerd's. You give him two or three at a time to relieve the pain. I used these on Haley and they worked great. I also have Baby Orajel that I started using with the pills when she's really hurting. Or you can use Infant's Tylenol with them. I also found that letting Haley chew on a wet baby washcloth or a carrot worked pretty good. As far as stimulating the gums, I found a toothbrush at Wal-Mart that has bumps on it instead of bristles and I used that to massage her gums once or twice a day. I don't know for a fact if that worked or not, but she already has six teeth so maybe. I hope you find something that works for you and Ethan.

I know how you feel...we went through horrible teething pain with Liz....here is what we used as often as we could
teething tablets (worked wonders)
tylenol/advil
orajel (you can also get all natural teething gel which is better for them)
frozen washcloth
teething rings. They say you are not supposed to freeze them but once in awhile we did

To help the teeth come through faster you can try putting orajel on a cloth and gently massage the gums....you may want to give him some tylenol/advil about 15 min. or so before hand though for the pain....
