We are thinking about getting Gavin a Leap Pad for Christmas. I was wondering if anyone else has one and what you think of it?

Here is a link to Toys R Us that shows what it is.

My 4 year old cousin has one and she likes it. We have many Leap toys here though and they are all very educational!

I have one on layaway for Tessa. It says 4+ but Tessa is very advanced for her age. I figure at Christmas she will be 3 1/2 and able to do the basics.

We were thinking about getting Liz something like that for Christmas too

We have one that we bought for our dd#2 a couple years ago when she was starting to read. It really helped her and now my youngest is using it for his letters and numbers. They both enjoyed it.

Our 5 year old niece got one for Christmas a couple of years ago, and they are the neatest things! She got alot of use out of it and we found it very educational. Expensive, but I think they would be worth it.

Especially as Maddie will use it too, so you will really get your money's worth

Well that was what I was thinking and the books I have seen in the stores vary according to ability. I have seen basic ones up to math and so on. I do not know fi he will get it for Christmas or not..may have to wait for his birthday but I do think I want him to have one.

My kids got two this past Christmas...the one that'll read books to ya and one with the big letter buttons. My kids love them both!! I would suggest the letter one for Maddie soon.

This is the one we have: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rolinababyconn

Leap Pad are a great educational product. We wanted to buy one for Drew a few years ago, but they were way too expensive then for our budget. They have come down in price. I like the fact that they have so many different subjects and they make it fun for the kids. Add in the fact that Maddie will get to use it as well, and I think it will be well worth the money.

I also highly recommend the Leap Pad products, we have several here at home and we have been happy with all of them!

Leap Frog makes great developmental toys for children. Michael has a lap pad that he uses with his speech therapist. I have met many other parents who highly recommend this product present company included!

My husband played with one at Toys R Us and loved it! (Really!)
He said that he wishes they had that when he was a kid. It was the Leap Pad Quantum one. He wanted to get one for the baby.
I told him he was and he agreed!

I bought a leap pad for my 7 yr old son last Christmas. He loved it. One problem tho, when my 3 yr old got a hold of it he damaged the pen that makes it work, so be sure to let your child know to be gentle with it.

My daughter has one and loves it. They are going to have the books on sale this tuesday(the 15th) at the navy exchange for 10.00 they are usually 14.00 dollars and up. I like the fact that they have so many books with different subjects that you can choose from.
